If you are looking for a place to spend your holidays or a temporary stay in the warmth, or a great investment opportunity, you may be interested in the location in the southernmost corner of Greece and Europe. Originally a fishing village in the southeast of Crete, today it is a small town of Makry Gialos inhabited all year round by about 1000 locals. However, in the summer it turns into a popular resort, fortunately still not very commercial. On this southernmost coast of Europe, washed by the warm Libyan Sea, you will discover your paradise at the end of the world: uncrowded beaches or traditional taverns with fresh seafood delicacies that you can enjoy at more than affordable prices, moreover with your feet in the sand.

Description

A beautiful bungalow with a roof garden overlooking the Libyan Sea. The property is located just 300 meters from the sea and is fully furnished. It consists of an open living room with fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area with an attractive solid marble table with chairs and storage space. It has a new L-shaped sofa with storage shelves and a new Smart TV, DVD player and soundbar. There is also a desk, drawers and shelves for books/CDs. The fully equipped kitchen is equipped with a fridge with freezer, dishwasher, microwave, dishes, cutlery, etc.

This is a three bedroom bungalow with three bathrooms. The bedrooms have beds and bedding. The smaller/children’s bedroom has bunk beds and a separate single bed that can be converted into a double bed. The main beds in the master and guest bedrooms have storage space underneath. Outside the master bedroom there is a hot tub in a covered area in the kitchen garden. The hot tub can be taken care of by the management team.

All rooms have new air conditioning units in the living room and dining room and in 3 bedrooms. There are also ceiling-mounted infrared heating panels in all rooms and bathrooms. The infrared heating is very energy efficient as all panels have individual thermostats. This means that during the winter the house is kept warm and dry at the same time. Three have timed thermostatic programs that can be adjusted to any needs.

In addition, the bungalow also offers a washing machine, dryer and plenty of storage space, which are included in the price. It also has its own internet and alarm.

The bungalow boasts a beautifully maintained garden at the main entrance from the pool via the terrace. This so-called kitchen garden has a small table and chairs. There are outdoor storage cupboards, a tumble dryer and a hot tub. The pool terrace has a large seating area with cushions. The beautiful roof terrace offers beautiful sea views and is illuminated at night. It has cushions in all places for comfortable seating, a marble table and chairs, four sun loungers, a gas barbecue, storage cupboards and a solar panel. This great bungalow is located just 3 km from the resort of Makry Gialos.

Location

Makry Gialos, which means long bay in Greek, has an impressive white sandy beach that attracts not only foreign tourists but also locals from all over Crete. When it comes to beaches in the area, you will be spoilt for choice. The high standards achieved by the main beach at Makry Gialos have been Blue Flag certified and have calm, shallow waters for swimming, ideal for families. To the east and west, a short distance away, are more impressive bathing beaches, some of the best in Crete. To the north, there is a varied landscape including cliffs, gorges and forested areas.

Makry Gialos is just a 30-minute drive along the coast east of Ierapetra, a port town of around 15,000 inhabitants, which is the economic and cultural centre of the region with its own hospital. Direct access to Makry Gialos is from the airports of Sitia (33 km, mostly local flights) and Heraklion (120 km, flights from all major European cities). The Greek government is pouring billions of euros into the island’s infrastructure, modernising its road and energy networks, and the construction of a new international airport at Kasteli (100 km), which will be the second largest in Greece, is also nearing completion.

More active individuals have easy access to water sports such as water skiing and windsurfing. Hiking and nature walks are also offered by the Kapsa Gorge or Perivolakis – an area full of oak and pine trees, which includes several waterfalls, suitable for hiking in different seasons.

Rent

Many foreign residents live here for several months of the year due to the ideal climate conditions. The area is known for its 350 sunny days a year. The property can also be used as a rental investment. The properties can be managed by a local management company, which is responsible for the maintenance and management of the apartments.
